Yes, absolutely. Our Shadow plates are manufactured using Jet Black acrylic for both the base and top layers. As long as the font is Charles Wright and the spacing is correct, they are 100% BS AU 145e compliant and MOT friendly.
No. We use an industrial-strength chemical bonding agent (not just superglue) to fuse the two layers of acrylic together. They essentially become one solid unit that is impervious to water, heat, and cold.
We can manufacture these for Show Use Only. Please note that using a coloured backing layer (Neon Blue, Red, Carbon, etc.) makes the plate illegal for road use in the UK, as the law states characters must be solid black. If you select a coloured backing, the plate will not carry the BS code.
