Are Two Tone Number Plates Road Legal?
Absolutely. We get asked this question a lot, but the short answer is: Yes, they are 100% legal.
As long as the plates are manufactured to strict BS AU 145e standards (which ours are), you have
nothing to worry about. We ensure the main characters are solid black, use the correct Charles
Wright font, and maintain the proper spacing. This means your plates are fully readable by ANPR
cameras and will pass an MOT without any issues.
Why Go for the Two Tone Look?
Think of this as the "gentleman’s upgrade." It’s perfect if you want to give
your car a premium, custom feel without the aggressive bulk of thick 4D acrylic blocks.
The Two Tone style offers a subtle pop of contrast that catches the eye when
you're up close, but keeps everything looking clean and professional from a distance. It’s the ideal
choice for a sophisticated "OEM+" aesthetic—making your car look better than stock, but still
classy.
